Nice. I need to get a better saw-chain sharpener. The little plastic one I have sucks.

All I've ever needed was a proper size round file for the chain Im working with (usually 3/8" 050)..put the saw bar in a vise with the chain on it and with good lighting I can do a 24"bar chain in about 20minutes if the chain isn't already totalled..You have to manage two angles at once,like many things,it's not too hard once you get the knack of it. I get about 3-4 sharpenings out of a standard chain. Mark the start tooth with a red or blue Sharpie so it's easy to find when it comes around again.

Hand file works if you dont have the machines but I still follow every few had jobs with the grinders.

sometimes the chains are SO out of whack I can only do the best to straighten it out, Im pretty good at it- but when its totalled..it becomes a "stump chain" or a chain used to cut stump roots,one or two uses in the rocks and dirt and thats it
