I have built a couple storage beds to fit situations of small rooms with no dresser space. The first one was one built from 3/4" oak veneer plywood and solid oak trim. I utilized all the space under the bed with drawers on each side along with double doors and shelves. Access doors on the end gave more storage space/ I built that in Michigan and made it collapsable. I transported it in my minivan then reassembled. It worked perfectly in the small mobil home bedroom. the materials cost right at $500.00

The second one was built from plain clear plywood and drawers were solid pine. I went this cheaper routes as I was painting it instead of staining. It cost something over $200.00 to build and also was transported in my minivan from Florida to Michigan for a small mobil home bedroom. The beds were very comfortable and handy. I enjoyed designing and building them.

LOVE it Stan!! That was a great idea! Space is always needed and at times we dont have enough so using what we have can be a challenge!

I made one for a friend with a small apartment, the sides looked like drawers, but two fronts were actually screwed together and the whole side pulled out, it was on casters instead of drawer slides, made it easy to move and set up. Was basically a flat storage platform that looked like furniture.

That is a great idea. Wish I could build another one but wife says it wont match the other dresser and night stands. Don't want to build a suite.
