How fast can you drag greased bushing wheel bearings? Would be on an ATV trailer or a trailer pulled by an ATV.

pigpen I have an atv trailer made with simple John Deere lawntractor axles cut and fitted with steel bushings that the axles ride directly on..I put a zerk fitting on the axle bushings when I made it and greased it right then when I made it,the bushings havent seen a grease gun since, that was two years ago..I use it often for yard work,it gets towed by my atv and golf cart..I think if you keep the speed down you should be able to tow it quite a ways-you'll probably hear it squeaking if it goes too far without some kind of lube in there.I think if you are using it lightly loaded, under 20mph and not going totally across the state of MO you should be fine for some time on one shot of grease, depending on your clearances between the shaft and bushing..hell give it some grease before you set out and it is what it is

I agree with Bunk on the speed and keep grease in them. I use them that way here too and they work o.k.
Higher speed and long distance would need grease more often.
20 mph would be a reasonable speed for them. I pulled one of mine with a 3-wheeler and stayed down to around 20 with no problems.

I thought I replied to this, but I must have not hit the post button. If the wheels have Zirk fittings just carry one of those small pistol grip grease guns. I recommend red & tacky grease. Should be fine.

the more tacky is the better! That type wont run out or wear as fast as regular grease does!

Great for holding gaskets in place during assy. too. gaskets stick better than regular grease.
