Got a trash can at an auction for a few bucks and got home to find these buried in the bottom under some beer bottles!

Ya!-- they big boys for sure! ---and very sharp,-- not chipped or worn. I have used wrenches on reamers before and that is what I will do on these. Kinda handy when you need them and I always seam to need reamers for something .

Sonny, I always thought that reaming was when you didn't have a big enough drill bit, you used a smaller bit and swung the drill motor around and around in a wide arc, and therby REAMED out enough material for your bolt to fit through. Isn't that how we made do on the farm ????

Hey Stan you'd be surprised how many hi-tech research labs that practice carries over into;) I think it's officially called "wobb-ulation" (an old-timer told me that 30yrs ago)

-Reamers are used to enlarge a hole previously drilled or punched, where you have no center to base off of..it self-centers into the existing hole..Big-time Morse Taper #4 and #5 like these would take 5hp and up gear driven machine to drive it..chips, oil and SMOKE! That and a cold beer and I'm up for watching the show

I like that wobbulation terminology. I have a few straight and adjustable reamers around here somewhere but none are tapered. I got rid of a bunch of stuff before I retired to Florida. I sent a lot of tools and tooling to guys that paid just the shipping. A lot went to our friends from Canada from the old site. I still have more stuff than I'll ever need. At near 80 I might need to do more clearing out.

All tooling is expensive.
End of my vacation at our house in Florida. Spent most of it cleaning up after Ian & now we're waiting for Nicole to hit. HOPFULLY won't have to fix anything before we head North Friday or We may have to stick around a day or two. Need to get back to work. left a lot of undone projects at home.

All good here... The East coast took it in the shorts though...headed North in the AM. Laying over in Monks Corner SC. Finish the trip home Sunday.

Just noticed your PM from a couple days ago. Guess we missed you by a couple days. We are only about 10 miles or so from you so next time give me a holler and we'll meet up. Stan
