Anyone have any knowledge on the quality of Summit hydraulic valves? The price difference between them and Prince makes me wonder if too good to be true.

I looked them up on Amazon and they are located in Phoenix, these valves are probably imported from China and assembled here into the assemblies. The reason the Prince valve is $900 is the American labor to make the parts here. Last I looked most vendors were out of stock on the Prince valves, maybe they only tool up once a year to make those dual stick valves, or the covid shut them down hard, dont know on that.. the Summit valves might be a economical price alternative, never laid hands on one yet-look at fit and finish of the threads-and if equipped the NPT or JIC tapers quality FWIW Happy Holidays to all

I never heard of the brand,---BUT its kinda like the chainsaws,--new faces showing up all the time and it dont mean they are all bad! Without seeing them,--its hard to judge!

I got this one on Amazon a Year ago to replace the sticking valve on my loader. It's still sitting on my bench. been a hell of a year. It's Made in China of course but I figure for the price I would give it a try. The Ports are not SAE as advertised. I ordered the fittings for the SAE ports advertised and when I went to install them..... NO FIT... the reviews all only complain about the port sizes the valve function is great. I think the ports are actually NPT. Still need to order the right fittings to use it. I can get a piece of pipe to screw in with the proper feel. The SAE fittings are either too loose or won't even screw in. Ahh I expect nothing less for the price. ![[Linked Image from live.staticflickr.com]](https://live.staticflickr.com/65535/51773258875_aa0d0bb612_c.jpg) ![[Linked Image from live.staticflickr.com]](https://live.staticflickr.com/65535/51771552227_7db912b4a4_c.jpg)

some of my valves will take a pipe threaded piece and I never had them leak during use,---just up or down them to fit your hoses. 3/8 up to 1/2 or 1/2 down to 3/8 or whatever size you need and they work fine! I prefer pipe threads myself,--its a lot simpler for me!

Figure I'll get swivels & screw them in to make it easier to attach the hoses. IN and Out are 1/2 and working ports are 3/8. Says the ports are #8 & #10.... NOT........ Maybe #6 & #8. #8 screws into the inlet & return ports and seem to tighten up but I don't like the slop in the threads. Feels like it would blow out under pressure.

Had to order some stuff for the bucket truck so I ordered both NPT swivel fittings and SAE boss. whichever ones fit the best will get used. hopped out to the backhoe today and looked at it. I think that's going to be 1st on the to-do list after I'm cleared to start walking again. can't even use the FEL right now because without the backhoe attached, I have NO counterweight.

I could barely use it to push the dirt back in the trench after the hoe came off. No traction to push either.

I just had a feeling they were pipe threads! MOST of my valves are!
