Just got this one last week from an auction. They said it needed a battery and starter. --YA!! we know how that goes! lol! --- Well the seat is missing and no key to the new switch they TRIED to hook up to it and 2 tires were real low, fuel has bled off and hand primer pump dont work.---- Starter turns motor over just fine IF you jump direct from batter pack so we have a wiring problem somewhere down the line. Cant find a wiring diagram anywhere for an 1835-B.
I have a parts book but it dont show anything.

I think it been sitting for a long time from the looks of it and from what I can tell its in decent shape and not all beat up.
Dont care for the diesel motor but the 188 Case motor is a good one. Thats what both of my 580 backhoe tractors have in them.

Starting to get the wiring sorted out on the loader,--starter seams to work fine now. Had to buy a set of keys from Case dealer for 15 dollars but they work in the new switch somebody tried to hotwire into the unit! --- Some guys have no business being around equipment ! Next job is to install an electric transfer pump into the diesel line since the hand primer pump is junk!
slow progress but getting there.

A used piece of equipment is always a puzzle to figure out what the previous owner did(or didn't do) to it..you'll get it worked out Sonny..just in time to push snow..10to1 the electric transfer pump you pull out of the box is junk,Ive been thru a ton of 'em..try to get a original Carter or Airtex pump, not a knock-off import, those don't last..best of luck to you

YUP!-- the import pump ran 4 hours then died!--BUT its brother on the L-781 is still runnin and it was put on 2 years ago, so anyway this one ran long enough to prime the system and after that it dont need a pump so as long as the system dont bleed off,--I'm fine till I decide if I want to spend the $260. for a new hand primer pump from Case!
Anyway the only thing I could find wrong was the fuse got knocked out of the holder and shut the motor down! --A REAL interesting set-up on this loader! Power goes from hot batt. wire on back of alt. then up to fuse unit then to key switch. NOW,---- unless there is a fuse in there you have no power to the switch resulting in a dead starter!--which they said was dead! --Starts the old 188 just fine!! --- Not sure what the seller was smikin when the were messin with it! lol!
I used it to dig most of the 2,000 pounds of spuds with and a bunch of other work around here and kinda starting to like the little guy!
The hand controls take some getting used to, but I got that down decent now! -- The short wheelbase kinda sucks! I am used to the long New Hollands! LOL!!

Thought the pump I put on died but it was just the ground wire pulled off! Anyway the loader developed a massive fuel leak and ended up being the suction hose from the tank to the pump.
That was fun to replace since its way down in the deep dark canyons and you can only work with 1 hand in there due to no room to even see what you are doing!
