Yeah I know but if I cut them all down, I won't have any shad in the summer. I have 1 nice oak tree a couple saplings. ash & oak but not enough to fill in the whole hedge row.
I know a lot about a lot of things BUT I still have a lot to learn. Life is what you make of it. So, why not make a working machine to make it easier.
Maybe like try a clam rake..it has 5"or so long tines that curve inward,usually have a basket to catch the clams in when you turn it over to wash out the mud..that might work
That sounds a little different from what I know as a clam rake, which are simpler without the basket. I guess clamming tools have evolved. I can see how that could work well.
Once away from the coast, we usually call the simple ones potato rakes. Problem I usually have with using them to rake anything is the points are sharp so it is hard to stop them from digging in and stopping progress.
How about something like a landscape rake? Usually wood or aluminum a couple feet wide, with blunt tines.
Have one of those Nut pickers. It actually works OK BUT I have so damn many Gumballs that it's quicker to rake them. My separated shoulder & blown bicep don't like raking.
