Rockwell shaper

This is an old unit have. It weighs over 5,000 pounds and looks like a 24" stroke

I got it from a high-school 20 miles north of here and they used it to mash beer cans! ---Guess that's all the students could figure out what to do with it! It has a phase converter box to make it run on single phase 220v, but I never did get time to hook it up at the farm. It would have to be moved closer to the breaker box to get full power. The back of the shed is 120 feet from the machine, so it has to be lot's closer.
They said it worked when I got it. thanks; sonny

That's a monster

I know a lot about a lot of things BUT I still have a lot to learn.
Life is what you make of it. So, why not make a working machine to make it easier.

From what I found so far,--- it's 24" hydro. ----A guy on vintage machinery has one like mine and he claims it weighs 8,000 , so not positive on weight. He also said the age would be between 1940-----1942 on the years this model was made. I would imagine they made a lot of WW-2 parts with them.

easily 6000lbs or better on that shaper iron Sonny. 8000 wouldn't be out of line. probably take a 5 gallon bucket of paint stripper to clean it up..
(oh,and buy THAT now while u can,its getting ready to be banned too)
