Bunk: Thanks for the information. I was hoping that I would get a response from someone like yourself that has real world experience and advice.
I did spend some time perusing posts on the DPS unit. Watched DPS manuf's hook up video. Consensus was innards are static except one comment was unit might have a a voltage sensor and a solid state relay to single phase the motor when it reached speed.
I need to remove the panels and double check the voltage & amp rating on the motor before I order a VFD. I should have known the DPS unit was too good to be true! Appreciate your help JLG
