Got one in my old truck. Couldn't do what you did because it's got a dump kit in it. Ended up with a couple over sized pieces of plate. Been in there for years... Lesser model tho without the winch. Hook the chain in the center stake pocket so it doesn't rock back & forth all the time.
I know a lot about a lot of things BUT I still have a lot to learn. Life is what you make of it. So, why not make a working machine to make it easier.
