Ya, That 3 phase crap is a joke for regular guys! Got that problem with the motor on my 10 foot SB lathe, --- ancient 2 hp 3 phase and I mean ancient! And to top it off its a chain drive from motor to first reduction shaft, flat belt from there to spindle shaft. The chain looks like the timing chain out of a car motor. guess I need to take the motor off and try making something else fit on it. Got a new 2 hp modern single phase motor from an auction that I kinda wanted to try on it, never gonna do heavy high speed production with it, so just something to make the chuck go round and round will suffice.
The 220-v part is great, the 3-phase part is not!
The switch on this thing is kinda weird too. it looks like a soda can with a lever on top. dont know if that would vary the speed or just on - off.
