I drimeled around the edges till there was no more soft material left. I'll epoxy fiberglass all the missing areas back in and spread it out from the center.

On the inside should I just cut the existing humps out and start over or can I just seal them in with more fiberglass on top of them. The black stuff on the top of the base fiberglass is some type of solid stuff that doesn't seem to have much fiber. Below this there is a layer of what I would consider structural fiberglass.

Can I bond to the stuff on top or do I need to remove it all and bond to the bottom layer.

I have a few days till my epoxy gets here. I have pictures of how I ground out the bottom of the boat but they didn't upload correctly to flickr.
